This is our second notice concerning the upcoming GUS-MQM BETA test that we plan to kick off within the next two weeks. At this time, the test is tentatively scheduled to begin on Monday, November 5, 2001, for a period of one week. This notice contains important information you should be aware of in preparation for the test.

TEST ENVIRONMENT

A real-time GUS-MQM BETA test environment has been created, which will provide firms the opportunity to enter trades, change data, and transmit and receive GUS-MQM TREX messages via MQM. There are three test options available for the test as follows:

  • Option1: Test the ability to transmit/receive/process TREX messages for GUS transactions, which will be used in place of the on-line system.
  • Option 2: Test the ability to receive TREX messages, instead of the RJE files, for all GUS transactions entered on-line.
  • Option 3: Test the functionality of GUS on-line only. New programs have been written that will be moved into production upon completion of a successful BETA test. Please note, however, that there wont be any new on-line screen functionality. We are simply offering member firm personnel the option of testing on-line GUS, to provide an added level of comfort before we go live in November 2001.

Those firms that choose either Option 1 or 2 during the one week BETA test will be moved into production for receiving GUS-MQM TREX messages when we go live in November. (Firms that choose Option 3 or that do not test during the BETA Test period, will continue to receive the RJE files, as usual.) Prior to the test, firms must ensure that their test MQM queues that will access our CICS17 environment have been set up. Additionally, all User Ids that will access on-line GUS, (GUS-T on your Super Session menu) must be submitted to Client Management in advance of the test.

As a reminder, we ask that you please take the time to complete the attached BETA Test Survey, and return it Client Management no later than this Friday, October 26, 2001.
